Riverforest in New Braunfels
Riverforest in New Braunfels
It’s no secret: slowly but surely, more and more luxury communities are popping up in the New Braunfels area. And why not? Drawn by the appeal of a distinctly “Texas Hill Country” lifestyle (peppered with small-town charm, high-end homes, and trips down the Texas Wine Trail), homeowners are fleeing the big-city grind and flocking to this charming locale (leading to a recent ranking as one of the fastest-growing communities in the nation). Home to a rich sense of German heritage, plenty of live music, heralded festivals, and sparkling lakes and rivers, New Braunfels remains one of the most unique Hill Country towns on the map.
This being said, many of these luxury communities (think: River Chase, Copper Ridge, Havenwood at Hunter’s Crossing) are being planted well beyond the outskirts of New Braunfels itself...an alluring fact, to be sure, for those bent on an outlying location. However, I believe that perhaps the most alluring aspect of Riverforest lies in its envied address just northwest of historic Gruene (a mere 2 miles) and just under 7 miles from all the homespun German charm of downtown New Braunfels. Still relatively close to the infinitely varied beauty of the rest of the Texas Hill Country (a short scenic drive from Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Wimberley, and Blanco), Riverforest also offers residents the privilege to live within the unparalleled New Braunfels community (without compromising the added perk of private Guadalupe River access OR high acreage properties!).
Speaking of exclusive Guadalupe River access, one of Riverforest’s most captivating features is its tranquil waterfront park, which provides private access to the sparkling river. Residents can enjoy that famously relaxing New Braunfels lifestyle by fishing, swimming, and picnicing along the banks, or by strolling down the inlaid quarter-mile walking path lined with towering cypress trees. And, besides this beautiful park, Riverforest also provides classic luxury amenities like a private clubhouse, tennis and basketball courts, and a playscape for children.
In case you’re under the impression that “closer to the city” implies limited home options (or sub-par rural schools), think again: as one of New Braunfels’ most exclusive gated communities, Riverforest offers some of the most varied, luxurious, and downright stunning real estate offerings in the entire New Braunfels metro area, as well as highly rated schools. Set on generous homesites that range from 2-3 acres (lined with abundant live oak trees), Riverforest home styles range from Mediterranean to Texas-Euro, many featuring custom touches like iron doors, custom chef’s kitchens, spa-like pools, five-car garages, vaulted ceilings (some with 150-year-old beams), hickory floors, and multiple fireplaces. Due to their upscale nature, Riverforest homes prices typically begin in the $700's and can reach over $2 Million (with higher prices reserved for those that enjoy to Guadalupe River frontage). And, when it comes to schools, Riverforest’s strategic location means students in this neighborhood are zoned to attend the Comal Independent School District, which was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency in 2009 and boasts highly rated academics. Specifically, students in River Chase students are zoned to attend Hoffman Lane Elementary School, Church Hill Middle School, and Canyon High School.
And, while we’re fairly sure you can find whatever sort of luxury you’re looking for within Riverforest’s gated community, those seeking to build their own custom waterfront dream home may want to look within the River Chase community, several miles north of Riverforest.
